Ok now my opinion,
I totally agree with everyone who says that listening to an album that sounds all the same is reaaaaally boring, it's like listening to one long track, but like others I also think that when you follow an artist you expect some consistency on his tracks. Not to be all the same, but to have something that people can identify as being from that artist in particular.
That's what I'm looking for, how to achieve that. |

i think then the question is more about developing your own sound, than having all your tracks sounding the same. that comes with time and experience. the fact that all your tracks were made by you should ensure some kind of cohesiveness, without even trying!

I never use the same samples, next to never - presets. What for? Music is a creative process, why spoil it with prepared stuff? Have fun from tweaking the new kick and bass each fucking track! Same with leads.
Mastering will also help. It will make the album sound consistent in terms of volume and frequency response. So don't bother about it, express yourself.

Yea, exactly. The question I posted was:
In order to create "my own sound" , do I always need to use the same Drum Kit, Bass and Sounds ?
Maybe I explained myself in a wrong way when saying how to make all tracks sound the same.
Thanks man. |

When you can recognize some artist work blind folded, thats the signature sound, something special, unique that only he practice or have
It can be little things or the way he is doing some things, it's really the whole vibe thing, rather than basslines or drums or whatever...in copy-paste music it's hard to have something special really, but other way around pretty easy really, just experiment, I guess you can make something new or interesting, that's the reason overusing well known samples and presets make your music pointless...your music is you |
