This topic is to anyone who feels an overwhelming flood of mediocre music lately... aka full-on, neo-full on and so on.
not to say that this music is mediocre, but it is very obvious that our psy market has been flooded with many acts that are not so good, and quality is a bit more hard to find, it is there though! I love many acts in "full-on". I've seen many topic here lately with frustration on the lack of "psyness" in the music.

I was in israel 2 weeks ago, and i got the chance to catch Hallucinogen's live set. This truly gave me hope for the return of psychedelia to the music. i was abit affraid to hear the set since i know all the tracks, nothing is really new to me, in the sense that i've heard it a million times before... yet, it was superb! magnificent, majestic to say the least. Those same tracks from the late 90's still work, they still move people in a way that i havent seen many tracks do... the tracks he played from younger brother and newer Hallucinogen were just as good.

furthermore, those same 2 guys that i overheard complain at the shpongle live about: "what?? its gonna be like this violin shit all night long? when is the karahana gonna happen, i need the boom tss boom tss." -- well those same 2 were dancing like crazy during his set... with the sillyest, funniest faces because of the nuttyness of music. they were not moving the same way during alien p. set, it was more of a fast zombi stomp...

so what im trying to say... simon's music is ages before its time... cause it was great then and its simply refreshing now... psy is not lost, i have a good feeling about it... its coming back... and like Trip says: "Trance is gonna get much better" you'll see.
dont lose hope to those who are...

i bet simon had no idea that his music from the early 90's would still be moving people today. i can credit simon for my love of this music and for introducing me to a whole new world.

i agree, psy is not lost. although i really dont see a problem with today's full on and other trance type music, i think that its future is looking great and better then ever.

Totally agree. Heard Simon live in October, and it was one of the best livesets I've ever heard. All the classics where totally fresh.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

I've seen him live three times. All three are in my top5 live acts of all times, the only ones getting to that level being Koxbox and Boris Blenn. All three very experienced trancers, all use a lot of old material in their live acts, and all three get people dancing in a much different way than nowaday's psytrance mainstream (Timo from Texas Faggot for instance made people dance very hard too).

Guess what, psychedelic grooves work mayhem on the dancefloor. A lot of more than most of the 'dancefloor' grooves.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Electric Universe (Boris Blenn) is probably the best live act on this planet.

His new album on Spirit Zone on May will mark a new era for our psychedelic scene, thats all i can say.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Agree on Electric Universe, and looking forward to the album Detox.

one more thing: it was amazing to see how the young crowd responded to Simon, looked like it was the first time most of them got a heavy dose of something like that...

simply made me happy

i am dedicating my next set at my next event totally to twisted records, mostly simon in several forms... ill let you know how it went.

i must say... simon is good! very good! but dont forget the other acts from the goa period as Transwave, IM, Miko and Har el(got some realy great psy vision!!) AP, deviant electronics, asia 2001..... and many many more! i bet that aparty that some dj will play this music will be great!
but i think that that goa genere is over .. and now its just get better and better with the years.. no one (no act) in this days can do this kind of music.. but... there a new era in front off us! coming from the north.. Texas fags', Shiwa 2000, Mullet mohawk, soliptic... and many many more so we got some that keeps the vibe alive and when i say vibe i mean that they r playing the music and got lots of hypnotic melodies that give u the feeling of old goa trance but much more futuristic.
thats it
salam on u ppl!
and as Trip said.... - Trance is going to be better .. and its already better!

I just saw Simon live in November 2003 in Australia, and it was simply the best live act i have ever witnessed. Period.

Playing all classics, like spiritual antiseptic and lsd, just perfect music. Producers take note of his performances, and punters go crazy on the dancefloor!

He is numero uno in my book
