Hey what up everybody, i know it's kind early but i was wondering if there is anybody here that is going to the festival??
I'm based in N.Y and i'm planning to go, if anybody else is going feel free to contact me.

why does that lineup look so familiar ..
If I had the bling to do it , I'd def be there ... I can't imagine what that's gonna be like ~

Hey man never knows, things change in a second, it's just about put your mind on it.
It will be 9 month from now, making all the efforts to go, that gonna be once in a life experience.

I would love to go! But.. I def would need the bling for it. Easter Island is the most remote island in the world, so naturally, it is untainted and beautiful, but a bitch in terms of money to get there. I would estimate about $2000-2500 in travelling costs alone. :-/
but props to anyone that goes.. when I'm the CEO of my own company, I'll pay for any psytrancer in the tristate area to go on my private jet, no prob guys. thank me later.

I really want to go. Still kinda waiting to see if things work out for someone I plan on traveling with.
Probably gonna cost $3000-3500+ depending on what day you have to fly to the island since they have limited flights from Santiago.
The site says most trips to the island cost people around $8k. That's a good reason to go right there

Would love to go but I think flights from santiago alone will cost several grand due to high demand and no charter flight availability. Add to that the cost of getting to santiago in the first place and you're looking at serious $$. I wish all involved all the best for this but don't think it's within the means of the typical psytraveller crowd you see at most festivals

kind of early? man if anything it's kind of late - less than a year away and flights are released one year in advance. You are already going to be forced to stay at least one week before and one week after the eclipse on the island. It's gonna be slim pickings for flights from here on out. If you're gonna go you should lock in your flights now. |

I really hope to make it!! But we'll see... It's going to be very difficult for sure... Plus the admission is expensive(which is understandable... I mean.. Logistics is gonna be hard! lol)
It's more to a no then yes... but maybe... just maybe....
If anyone does go.. think of the money spent like this.. you get to have a once in a lifetime experience... see the world wonder... visit the island.. check easter island off th e to see list...help a very courageous production...

Actually i called the Lan Airlines about one month ago and they hadn't open the flight at that time.
the tickets from santiago to the island will be $ 750.00
the tickets from U.S it's about $ 1000
And the Entrance 700
will be a lot money but i think will be worth.

Some clarification on prices:
- LAN had been selling flights at $500 which are now over $700 but these are only for a greater than 1 month window outside the eclipse (ie: minimum 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after). Flights for the period between have still not been released but are very expensive so the organizers have opted not to go with LAN and are finalizing arrangements for charters. The charters are tentatively settled at ~$1400-$2000 depending on originating city (Papeete Tahiti or Santiago Chile being the only options, with Papeete being the cheaper of the two).
- The festival ticket is $500, not $700.
Remember to try to think of daily ways to reduce your carbon footprint when engaging in recreational air travel. |

Yeah I paid my deposit back in August... and well, I don't really have the money to go but I'm trying to save anyway I can. Basically, its gonna cost about 3,000 just in flights plus 500 dollar fest ticket plus whatever you use to eat, buy, etc. Dam, it would be worth it though right?

As some of you might already be aware. LAN airlines has removed from public sale all scheduled flights to the island for the eclipse period. The main reason for this is limit overcrowding on the island. Thus, all flights to the island are via official tour operators.
During the past few weeks LAN has offered to the festival a series of special charters. The dates of these charters are very flexible and suit the needs of the festival. They are however more expensive than normal scheduled flights.
They have allocated 4 return flights from Santiago. A total passenger count of 840 passengers.
So we have contracted another service from Tahiti with Air Tahiti Nui.
This will bring the total amount of seats available to approx 1700.
The current prices we are managing are the following: (Still subject to confirmation)
$1400-$2000 Economy SCL/PPT-IPC Return
$2000-$3000 Business/1st Class Return
The flight are 100% secure, with very flexible dates around the festival.
We expect to have the reservation system up and running by the end of October.
We appologise for any inconvenience caused by this. But be rest assured we are doing everything possible to secure the flights to the island for the eclipse.
Ofcourse remember if you plan to stay on the island for a period greater than 4 weeks, you can adquire flights from lan.com for very reasonable prices.

It'll still be great. At least we know the people who are there are really into the music. Unlike some other festivals and parties I've been too before. Right? hehe. |
