Does anyone even have any idea why we do all this?
the majority of us have this drive to keep pushing ourselves further and to keep feeling compelled to perpetuate all of this and often times dedicate our lives to it to keep making connections with new people and to welcome with open arms open minded people society dont understand, and to further alienate ourselves from the understanding of typical societal life...WHY? is it just another party after party or are we getting at something here? im great with not having a why i just wondered if anyone else had thoughts on why we all keep coming back and rearranging our lives to accomidate what is one of our top 5 priorites. i doubt we all just lack the ability to get bored with the same ritual perpetual. which means to me that there is some sort of evolving freshness to keep us in forward progress.
so dancing our lives away in bliss or actively creating a better existence

I feel like a big reason why a lot of people rave and throw raves who really have their hart into it is because they want to create a space where people can feel like they don't have to be judged by the social construct. This often causes people to express themselves in ways they really needed to to unblock themselves... but even more than this, it is about slowly taking a piece of what we are, how we feel and what we learn in a tribal or psychedelic experience and really change our synapses in a postive way, and apply that to the rest of our lives. Its like blowing away the clouds that keep us from seeing what we really want when we have a moment of energetic bliss and remember how lucky we are to be alive. |

..oooh deep. but i have just slept for 14 hours straight and all my brain is saying is "coffee".

Hardly. It's just as universal as language is. Every culture has different kinds of music, just as there are different languages spoken all over the world. Hell, some cultures even have different scales and tunings. Music is not universal in the way you are saying it is. The fact that most of the whole world partakes in music in one form or another is true, but that's like saying speaking is universal. Duh.
Mathematics is universal.

I spend countless hours(and all our money) promoting so that I can go to the type of events I wish more people would throw and so I can have a place to present the music I have worked so hard on. I drive many thousands of miles a year in the hopes that where I am going will have the proper environment for a total mind cleansing experience. I pay money to go to half assed events in the hopes that the next one will be better. I have lost at least three jobs over raving/psytrance. I do this all because my life would feel incomplete without it.
Hmm, sounds like an addiction to me.
