My oppinion on this album is controversial. Musically is definitely something i have been longing to hear for a long time. It is something between Asura and Nacho Sotomayor. I love it!!!
The thing is that it lacks of some basic music production points. Like the sample at Radio Bombay at some point in the track kicks in too suddenly disturbing the musical flow. And i get the feel at some tracks that there are some distant backround sounds that have techno orientations and i think if they werent there it would be far better.
Again...i really liked this album. Thats why am suggesting some things so we can talk about Hol Baumann as a good old classic chillerian!!

it sounds exactly how HOL BAUMANN and the Ultimae team wanted it to sound !

and the outcome is a beautiful emotional unique high quality produced album. ( as always from Ultimae )

the Ultimae team and artists are talented enough to make their art precisely how they want it to be and they use high quality equipment to do it so we can all enjoy the music.

of course music is art and like every other
art form we all hear it,see it and feel it in a different way and that's the beauty of it

of course there are albums with low quality or " lacks of some basic music production points ". like you phrased it regarding to Hol Baumann - Human but not from Ultimae !
in fact they just get better with every album !
and " Human " is a masterpiece in music terms and production terms as well in my opinion.

So maybe you can say that you didn't like some of the production style but in my opinion it's a mistake to say that it have lacks of some basic music production points.

I understand that you love it, but you raised the subject so I replied.

cheers !

It has become one of my all-time-favourites.. I need a daily fix, otherwise some of his melodies are stocked in my mind for hours.

For me this album can't be any better.

At first I thought it was one of the worst Ultimae releases I have heard, but it really grew on me.

Hey man. I think i didn't mention anything about Ultimae or its products. I really like the label. And i don't think that the whole team of the label created this particular album. It happens to be just one person!

I guess you didn't understand my point of view , so i'm going to explain it again.
and I will tell you exactly why there are NO lacks of some basic music production points ( like you said )

" it sounds exactly how HOL BAUMANN and the Ultimae team wanted it to sound ! "
Meaning : HOL BAUMANN is experienced and talented enough to create and produce his music exactly the way he want.

Regarding to the Ultimae team ( in this case Huby Sea and Vincent Villuis aka Aes Dana )
the music HOL BAUMANN composed and recorded in his home studio for this album is not the final result that we all listen to on the album, although it's very high quality produced it has one more final and very important step to go through and it calls " Mastering " and this is where Huby Sea and Vincent Villuis ( part of the Ultimae team ) come in !

here is the presentation about the Mastering from the Ultimae site : " We carry out Audio Mastering for diverse projects offering our "ears" , background, experience and sensitivity in music.
The mastering is done by the duo Huby Sea / Vincent Villuis in order to mix and optimize point of views, emotions and complementarity.

Mastering is the last step in audio production, it enables optimisation of stereo recording to industry standards. There is no constant rule and/or manipulation but more an adaptatation to the original sound, kind of music and expected outcome.

Traditionnally, this includes running the stereo mixs through our Pro Tools environment (hardware and software configuration). After several listenings, we boost and cut specific frequencies, adjust compression and expansion of the audio spectrum, enhance the harmonics and transient if needed. We work on the stereo imaging and positioning, maximisation and enhancement in order to create the deepest and warmest result. All the processes are used in order to bring out the essence of the music and to reveal its intrinsic energy.

Our studio equipment offers professionnal audio works restauration tools : declicking, decracking and de-essing.
We can transfer from different audio formats : pure data (wav, aif,...), DAT tapes, minidisc, vinyls "

so what we are hearing on the album is the music that HOL BAUMANN composed and recorded in his home studio after the Mastering stage.

so believe me when i'm saying that there are no " lacks of some basic music production points " HOL BAUMANN always creates his music with high quality standards of production and " Human " is no exception !

of course there are some things that need some polishing like in any other album and for that they do the Mastering, Huby , Vince and HOL BAUMANN together .

so, you said that It happens to be just one person creating the music and it's true in this case, but you mentioned some things about the production and in the production there are more people involved !

so again ! there are no lacks of some basic music production points. Huby, Vince and HOL BAUMANN ( Olivier Orand ) are talented professionals.

this album Mastered by Huby Sea, Olivier Orand and Vincent Villuis.
at the GingerHill Studio - Finalised in the Opera House of Lyon.

so again - the outcome of "Human" is a beautiful emotional unique high quality produced album. ( as always from Ultimae )
these guys know exactly what they are doing and they are very good at it as well !

here is some more info about Mastering -

Love&light my friend !

cheers !
