All this is very good, some Greeks have indeed succeeded in making quality music. But i will NEVER EVER forget the side-effects of our poor modern giftoculture. *Mike Verros, Cherouvim , and the rest that i Should as well forget *
By the way, music making with Playstation or Trackers (Jesus, Trackers...what a story), by some guys who got happy when the heard a 4/4 rhythm out of the speakers, and transforming cheesy kid melodies into some kind of eurotechno bullshit, naming it to be israeli to gain popularity, was actually commercial 3 or 4 years ago. Yes, I'm reffering to the alltime classic ^uplifting^ trance. Do you guys forget about it ? No....Not me, and I will always know these guys, no matter what name they try to invent to mask their past. Anemomazomata Anemoskorpismata. And the only guys I actually respect, are the greeks that work abroad. Except Wizzy noise, L.O.S (Hey andrea ! ). That's it and try to remeber the FULL history...           Bring yourselves into the light

to other_reality : it is very weird that you will "NEVER EVER FORGET" all these things, cause it's been a lot of years since that time. I hope your brain is still not stuck at those parties, and that it will go on.

I think that it is always better to create (or at least TRY to) something that totally satisfies you personally. This can be anything from composing some music, cooking some good food, writing a poem, reorganising your room, talking some good words. It's an 'upper'.

Criticism, bad words and the urge to degrade people and situations only satisfy people who are unable to do things like the ones mentioned above. It shows that something inside is going wrong...

...and nobody wants that, isn't that the case?           http://triplex.trance.net

Well triplex, I was not trying to insult anyone. The music that I was reffering to in my previous post was itself insulting. Insulting for the people who made it, and ofcourse for the people who actually paid for it, by any means. When I say I will never forget, I actually mean it. If some of these people convince me otherwise, then O.K. By the way, I do all the stuff you mentioned, and believe me, nothing is wrong inside !!! I am merely trying not to pretend. When I am sending a post, I'm not doing it to degrade some people, only situations. By remembering the mistakes of the past, maybe, just maybe, some people will activate their self-correction mechanism and head towards better things. Just that. By the way, your music is good, and you seem to have achieved a good level of ideas. I just believe that you actually feel the same about the level of music in Greece, and I'm sure that you recognize the failures of the past. Moving on is a good thing, the best actually, but the past is still there, standing as a reference for the improvement of the future...           Bring yourselves into the light

Since when making music (even bad music the way you see it other_reality) is considered insulting,a failure and a personal mistake?

the problem dear detox is that when people ask me what kind of music do i prefer and i say "psytrance" they laugh...and say "oh..i see...holymen and stuff like that...ha ha kids music...you will stop in a few years"...the 95% of greek people when they hear the word "trance" they think "uplifting trance"...the other 5% it's us...this kind of music destroyed the trance scene in greece...

Other_Reality if you dont like commercial music then simply dont listen to it.I dont think in any case though that psy trance is so commercialised in our days,i mean when you have trance artists like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk selling hundrends thousands or even millions of cds every year i cant see how psy trance with just some thousands sales every year can be compared to them and be characterised as commercial...

Raziel when you tell to people that you listen to psychedelic trance and they say to you 'Haha Holymen and stuff like that' then the problem is not the so called back then uplifting trance music BUT THEIR IGNORANCE ON THE SUBJECT OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC IN GENERAL.

I was an uplifting trance music fan myself once for some time but i dont remember people that were involved in that scene those days to confuse psy trance with 'uplifting trance',i mean who doesnt remember the famous words 'europes' and 'prionia' that uplifting trance people used in order to describe psychedelic trance music back then?

No kind of music is insulting or embarrasing or anything else, the only embarrasing thing in our country is the low level of music knowledge and information (especially in the electronic music area).

Do you think Raziel that if you told to your friends that you are listening techno music or ambient music that they would know for what you are talking about?

I hope you are getting my message.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

yes you are 100% right...the problem is not the music but the people...
the sad thing is that uplifting became much more famous in greece than psytrance ever did (until today) (even my cousin who likes metal has the transistance albums)

Yeap its true that uplifting trance was ultra famous and fashionable for some years in our country.

The difference with psy trance though is that uplifting trance is now tottally dead while psy trance is still alive and kicking

Its a matter of quality in production i guess           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

But ofcourse more history "questions ":

-What happened to LOS (and their member Staikos as far as i remember)?
-What about Infinite Zen?I still remember Sungate 3001 and some other extraordinary for their time tracks.
-Why there was only ONE great GREEK leap forward with Trance Experience no1 (Discobole Rec) -although it lacked quality,it was a great step- and why it was never repeated?

Some remarkable GREEK picks from the past as madhouse said in the first post:
NUTE sound of sounds and DJ Savage (Do u remember "Oceania" tune?)
