Himmlisch Prod. - July 28th - fake party!!!

This message is meant as a warning to all the people that were planning to visit party of Himmlisch Prod. (Karina Filisola) announced for July 28th with me (DJ Slater) and Duca live on the line up.
After a very successful Tribal Vision label party organized near Mexico city by Deliria crew (with a very professional approach, cheers guys!), we were contacted by many party organizers from Mexico that were interested in booking our artists. One of them was Karina Filisola aka Himmlisch Productions (http://www.myspace.com/himmlischproductions) who contacted us at the beginning of June with a booking request for myself and Duca.
Within 24 hours she has received our bank account info for sending us the money for the advance and plane tickets. She was also asked to make the bank transfer (or Western Union transfer) immediately as the plane tickets prices were rising quickly and Duca needed to fix his visas, too. She was clearly informed that there is a deadline for sending the money after which we will not be able to fix Duca´s visas and buy the plane tickets.
Since then she was asked about the transfer from either mine or Duca´s side many times by email, Skype etc - but she has never been able to do so. Her last answer is the following one from July 14th:
"SORRY, IM REALLY SORRY I CAN SEND YOU THE MONEY TOMORROW CUZ HERE I NEED CHANGE MANY THING"
(which didn´t happen of course)
Since then she is neither picking up the phone nor answering our emails.
The purpose of this thread is not bashing the shitty promoter (unfortunately this kind of unprofessional behavior is a common thing these days), but to warn the Mexican party people that were planning to visit this party - because the promoter is still promoting the event, even though it´s already clear that neither me nor Duca is coming!
Because in these cases promoters are often trying to keep the real reason why the artist did not arrive in secret ("he missed his plane..." and similar excuses), we would kindly like to ask anybody who would see such an announcement by Himmlisch Prod. to inform us as we want to keep our good reputation in Mexico. The mistake is completely on the side of the promoter and she did not do anything to fix it in the last days.

especially when promoters are using artist names to promote their event and they already know that the artists won't come because they fucked up!

hi, im karina filisola n this is my answer:
I return to inform that to my it is to the principal one that hurts, that this does not carry out nevertheless as explains to them in the mail that should send them I had an accident and me it is impossible to expire with this date, also I said to them that can to pay for all the caused inconveniences,they should answer to me and say that it is what happens.... already they spoke of my without importing my health for them and the mail that gives the orders for my there is no problem with you and I want that the people know that of my partI am trying to correct this here in mexico the people me side even hurt by a few days more...
Simply I want that they know that the person more sad, injured and affected here I am ...

I'd like to say that even though I ignore the details of what happened and it's the artists right to let people know they aren't playing in a party when they are being announced, it is true that Karina had an accident. And while it is true that she's starting in this business and lacks some experience that veteran promoters like deliria have, her intentions are to make good parties and continue learning this business.
However whatever the reasons she missed the deadline it's obvious that it'll be a serious offense for any artist to be announced if there's no closed deal, so it is also the promoter's responsiblity to notify immediately of this situation in the flyers, forums, etc.
I hope everything can be solved on everyone's best interest.
And as an aditional comment to every promoter or people interested in becoming promoters remember that an integral part of being 100% professional is to have perfect timing, deadlines are very important because the artists get nervous when their fees don't get in time, besides that when a booking is made artists reject the offers they get in that date because is already booked so if you miss a deadline you are affecting the artists directly who lost all the chances to play in that date.
Remember, this is a job, and like any other job requires work, discipline and organization, imagine that you work at an office and your work starts at 8:00 am but everyday you arrive at 10:00 am I doubt you'll be able to stay in that job for a long time, now imagine that you are assigned a project on monday to be delivered in friday but instead of working on it you spend the days with your friends having fun and when friday arrives you don't have anything done and then you get in trouble, the same applies for the music business Peace, Love, Light and Harmony |
