who they are, is meaningless, who r the students is meaningless also, because it does not matter who they are, what is important is what they do there.they r teaching lots of subjects like astronomy,physics,science, science of plants, healing properties of plants,and many many other subjects,various methods of meditaion, techniques to calm the mind, being, to induce inner calm,stillness,tranquility,bliss,peace, they mostly using ancient texts,knowledge which have been passed on for 1000's of years, they say that maharishi's in snow white castles, teach a selected few the ancient esotoric knowledge,they say these beings control nature, and various energies acting upon earth, they influence them for the betterment of mankind,but i dont think there r any such schools left,but maybe there r,but there r still many many individuals who r found in the higher reaches of the himalayas, in the snow, wearing nothing, mostly in solitude,like hermits, but these individuals do not reflect the real schools, and not anyone who wishes to find such a school will find it, they r so well hidden, you need much more than will power to reach them , because the journey is very very hard, and most people will not last,and will never find, they say, that the journey to find this magical school, is the most important part , because eventually all the knowledge will come from within you, and not from some school. i think u should ask more specific questions , not some general questions like the one u asked, you will only get the answers you r looking for, if you ask the right question, so ask.

hehe, ok i must agree, ^ that was not at all written properly, and written very badly,somedays the frame of mind is not so clear. anyway why are they hidden.. the journey to find this hidden knowledge, is actually taken deep inside oneself, as one goes deep inside oneself, he wil encounter his ego,pride,desires,and all other materialistic blockades inside himself. as he moves towards his highest self, his atman, his soul, or whatever u want to call it, which is hidden deep inside all of us, to find his liberation. this is what this " hidden teachings" are. but because the being is given higher divine knowledge as he walks furthur down the path of truth,as his ego dissolves compltly, as he becomes aware of his oneness with everything and everyone, as his mind is cleaned of all garbage, and when once his mind is clean and light,then this inner knowledge blossoms,or reveals itself,this knowledge can only come to the well initiated. hence it is called esotoric knowledge.the elders who had gained this divine knowledge tried to help the future generations by writing it down or passing down this knowledge in forms of books or directly to their students, thats one of the reasons why its called hidden, it is no secret, if you call it , it will come.
