Somehow I got into the habit of reviewing CDs that are two years old... oh well.
I got to this CD through recommendation of a Brazilian friend who had recently saw and heard Hilight Tribe perform live, and I must tell you - I envy him for that. When you listen to this CD you can imagine how awesome a live performance of these ppl could be an amazing experience.
 Hilight Tribe is a group of five musicians and one soundperson from France - Seb (Dr. Abidbot), Greg, Rishnu, Roots, Ludo and Mathias.  They mix many influences into their music, combining musical instruments and motiffs from all over the world. I'm talking about guitars with tablas with didgeridoo with congas with sitars with so many types of instruments I haven't heard of ever before  and the outcome is quite thrilling. 
This is the third CD by this group and I haven't had the chance to listen to the older ones yet. None of this CD's tracks will ever be a major dancefloor hit, nor will this CD ever be called a masterpiece of art, but it is a good CD with a great, fresh sound, something I can't really compare to anything else, really.
My favorites: Woman Irie, Typhoon, Shubori. 
Rating: 7/10

Free Tibet is an absolutely great track 
Thank You Karnaf for reviewing the album... they truely deserve it !!
I don't know if they are performing a lot abroad or not.... but you are all welcome to see them here in France !!

Hilight Tribe music is pure natural trance with live instruments in it. So good, spiritual and original. They were playng for BooM2002,first day opening this great event. It was so sad that there was a problem with electricity, but they were trying to play without power. They are great musicians.

About the 2 previous album from Highlight Tribe mentionned by Karnaf, here are the names (always released on Kosmik Hoboes) :
Mahâ-Wave (1999?), highlight Atlantis, be carefull there's 2 different version for this one:
the original that i bought, has a quite bad mastering unfortunatly,
i guess that the new edition is largely better for the mastering
Stellar Rain (2000) ,mention on this one for Electric Sage
