Hey all,
So I have a way to make nice kicks... I don't have problems with snares, but my current hihat library is garbage.
I'm definitely willing to process hihats to make them fit, but I find starting with nice samples in the first place can save time and be less tedious.
I'd love to hear any sample packs that you all could recommend to purchase, or a good place to get started to get pro sounding hihats.

When you have the samples you like, play with the amp envelope of the sampler and when you have more than just the offbeat positions, use velocity connected to volume
longish attack, smaller decay and sustain, some release maybe
important is the longer attack and the shorter decay und sustain...snappy hats that are, provides speed for your track

try to make your hats with white, brown or pink noises... after u export an almost long piece of this white noise in audio cut it equalize give some small reverb and that's it |

Thanks for all the good tips guys. I've noticed while working with hats, the eq seems to be a very important part also as taking out the wrong frequencies can make them seem hollow and lifeless if not careful. |
