So I have been trying to figure out how to make that stutter that highko has in all his tracks, you know the one....
Anyone got any idea how to achieve this?
Cheers

cud be done either manually by cutting up the samples and sending it thru diff fx or a vst like Db Glitch (which is freeto download)
and if ur using glitch please try to be a lil more creative than just sending the samples thru the default presets it s been overused to death ...

the manual way isn't wrong at all. but if you need a little bit of help or inspiration, look for these plugs
dblue stretch: Quite simple plugin but really nice
livecut: instant stutter with lots of variations - bit unpredictable, but if you sample the output and take the best parts it works very good.
ableton live beat repeat: awesome stuff if you program it properly
ableton live effect chains with dummy clips: that's the way to control the beat repeat plugin and lots of other effects and be able to switch them with your keys or launchpad or whatever control surface you want to use
buffer override: good plugin for... well stutter
dblue glitch: don't like it
native instruments - the finger: that's a quite nice plugin, like to use it because you can chain 5 effects. good instant stutter.
manual way to glitch: view tom cosms tutorial on it, I like to use this way to spice up everything, from basslines to leads to almost everything. (time consuming tho)
hope that helps

If you have access to ableton, you can have hours of fun with the beat repeat plug with a gate after it
But gates work really well to accent any stutter effect if tweaked just right. |

Bounce + manually edit the resulting waveform
The original and best way imo... |
