I realy want to know/ask (If its exist)
What is the best and most high of quality
and hearing level that a human being can
get . There is a list or graph or maybe
we are all hearing the same but some of us
listening to other things more carefuly , Taking
the time and geting in to this worlds
and thats the point , across the
standards (imagination) and being in
other places to get that presents .
I lorn (On my self) That at the time .. When
you 'lost' your hearing your quality is go's
up !
I read somwhere thats visiting frequently in
clubs (Or even us the producers - Hearing the
same track again and again and again in
all over the creation we are "killing" and
destroyd 17 decibels).
Answers .. ?

people probably hear different - as all people are different from each other. But i dont think anyone hear much more or less than the 'standard' (20hz-20khz) unless they have damaged their ears off course.
I think when someone loose their ability to hear some certain frequencies, they focus more on them they can hear clearly. Maybe its not a bad thing for us producers when we get a little damage on our ears - but we should tkae care of them anyway i think! |

I seem to recall that the highest that has been measured is arround 24Khz in a young person. This is unusual though. On average kids will hear up to 20Khz.
After the age of 16, it just goes downhill. This is just the natural degradation of the ears. Loud sound, especially if it is sustained, will do extra damage to your hearing whatever age you are.

No way! You are probably better at listening because of experience and ear training but it certainly doesn't come from hearing loss!!! So don't go and damage your ears in the hope to hear better. It doesn't work like that.

17 decibels? Where did you get that number? It makes no sense! The louder the sound and the longer you are exposed to it the more damage you will do to your hearing.
Check out these charts: http://www.tinnitus-research.org/info/turndown.asp
Especially look at the Nightclub/disco figures!!! So next time you want to spend money on your PC or synths or whatever, consider getting special musician earplugs instead. They are a much better investement in the long run if you are serious about music.

PS: I don't listen to headphones any more because you tend to put them louder. I prefer not to risk my hearing. iPods (and such) are ear killers. |

It is estimated that we loose 2Khz of listening every 10 years...
Meaning:
00-10 yrs old from 0-20Khz
10-20 yrs old from 0-18Khz
20-30 yrs old from 0-16Khz
30-40 yrs old from 0-14Khz
40-50 yrs old from 0-12Khz
50-60 yrs old from 0-10Khz
.....
90-100 yrs old from 0-2Khz
Of course his is an estimation, but it is quite reliable. (do a test with your granny )
Also, you shouldn´t be in very loud environments for a long time, try to use ear protection, and do some breaks away from the dancefloor from time to time.
p.s. - dB values are comparison relative values, so saying we loose "17dB" makes no sense.... |
