damn im aiming high
but seriously - the high hats in Prometheus - U.R.beautyful are insane.
they sound like they have been flangerized the crap out of. ive tried so many things - they do this method on there offbeat open high-hat as well. it sounds like resonance is wide open and and there is some kind of filter on it... i cant those results no matter what i do.
to me they sound as thin as pins yet strong and puncturing into my brain..... how is this done?           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

I've used Waves Metaflanger to get the effect you're talking about - try removing all the lows and mids with a good EQ, then ram them through a red Antares Tube (lots of gain) and then remove all the lows and mids again (!) whilst notching out any nasty frequencies that may have been introduced by the Tube. Then add Metaflanger: short delay (about 1ms) and play with the rate and depth until it sounds right.

Good luck; hope this helps!           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

I love creative hats...one of the reason I'm so up X-dream's ass...so many people put so much work into the rest of their tracks, and then just flick the hats on like a lightswitch
