I wish you could listen to Cradle of Beat's song "Dancing Free": a real morning groovy killer which both puts a smile on your face and gives you the urge to dance like crazy. And it's 162 BPM I think So... There are no rules!!!!!

is it just me or the bpm of the tracks this days, going faster and faster?? every new V/A i see that the bpm is between 146-153(!!!).. why's that? 140 is not fast enough?

It's about the label you are checkin'.
I didn't know about higher of 146 bmp.
I'm into 136 to 146.
I find easily fast tracks which i like but i'm peakier on the slower ones.

The only question about is what we want ..
To dance or just a riotousness and running wild .
dont think that 162 is a big pleasure when we are
talking on dance (When body & soul are connected)
and maybe inside of us is fun (But i check it on 1 of
my tracks - 160 Bpm and i can tell u its true , To fast
for the build of the human being skeleton seems the
mind traffic are much more swift , Rapid and faster
So we must to understand and make this right analys
and know that) . I dont realy think is matter the high
of the Bpm (Just have taking a good care that some
1 can be dance to it - Just to bombing its not a big
problam , As a producers we should think .. and
in the same thought That it must be dance some how)

There is tracks (I got some) 142 that sound 148
and at the same time 148 that looks like 142 There
is no rules .. 152 , 155 (Think more then that we are
realy miss the target of the all musical idea but .. I
dont know .. Maybe in the space or at the future
days and time the human being ears will be fitted
even to a 200 , But until then .. Lets stay calm and
in the realistic frame of here .

I feel sorry for some of you, limiting your musicvision to BPM... a good track isnt made out of BPM + Synths and kicks, its full of mood and feelings! BPM dont mean shit imo... every good track has its own personality.

Me and Tony Comanti from Moonflower Prod was thinking about a progressive styled track around 150-155bpm.

I've heard some good 170 BPM psychedelic sounds. Listen to this mix for example.

You can dance to it in half-time like Drum n' Bass.

Yea there are some good high bpm ones but generally I'm not a big fan. It seems too rushed. I like my music to be more phat with biig shattering kicks and basslines. I think midi miliz, delta, early prog stuff (2000 onwards) can create much more darker and crazier effects with 130-140 bpm. Just my two cents.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

i dont think that tracks on 160 bpm will change something to good ... more speed , means more drugs to ppl, to stay on their foot during the some wierd set of 150-160 bpms ... more drugs mean less chance to realize music as it is ... so in the end we all loose ... i will not starting disscusion that in producing music on lower bpm's u have more chance to play with the sound, more chance to do some good things with it ...but unfortinatly in these days psy trance become one big fast and furious show ...
