Hi guyz.
Im not really new in here, i read many topics and produced some songs for me.
Im working with FL Studio 7 and some VSTs like Albino, Absynth, Tau Pro and so on.
I stuck in the Leads and the Percussion, the baseline isnt a problem for me i think... The Problem for me (i think so) is I have NO Hardware units, can you give me some information what is worth to buy to start? A synth or better a monitor or something? Midi Controller? Or cubase because fl isnt good?^^ i dont know
For You i give a Track to listen how i produce... i will going to make in your face fullon psychedelic sounds...
My first song is with the melody of basshunter that is on youtube where he gives a tutorial for FL, its not my melody. But i done all by myself. The song isnt finished, its only to start.
So give me some inputs please, where i go wrong and what is good... and pls give me some hints what is good to buy for me.
Thank You Guys
Greetz

Hi!
Before you get a hundred replies saying forget fl and switch immediately to cubase, I',m going to tell you stay with fl for a little longer.. It can help you make better leads, (and actually different leads to) and learn more about digital music (midi, fx,controls, etc). I love fl for the creativity, not for mastering or producing..
You don't really need hardware synths cause you have CST, but the next step would be a midi controller. My first controller was a Xboard, and it let me get to another level while making music.. And controllers are more than easy to set up in fl.
BUT, (at least in fl 3) you cant configure the controller to a non fl plug-in. And that sucks.
I say for you to play around that track for a little longer, just to find out more stuff from fl, than forget it. Start a new project. And then a new one, and another, until you actually enjoy the sounds you make. Thats how I learn, by making new projects. And sometimes it help to accidentally delete your projects (in a early stage) because it helps you to move on.
Wish you luck..

Hi tribute i haven't listened your track yet but you can go upper left to the plugin and click there and there is a choise "Last tweaked parameter" so you just tweak one knob and then last tweaked parameter>edit event or link to controller".. anyway beleive i helped...

to automate in FL,
just twizzle the knob you want to automate, then on the top left hand side of the plug in window, there is a little box that looks like an american plug.
click this, go to 'last tweaked parameter'
select 'edit events'
and automate away!
Best if you do this on a blank pattern, eh?

Spend your money on monitors first. Also treat your room for sound (to appreciate your monitors). This will make all the EQing/compression/tweaking more apparent. |

I recommend a fusion of FL studio and Pro Tools. FL has all you need in terms of sequencing, Pro tools is the leading standard in wav editing and mastering. Unfortunately it is also very expensive! If you cannot afford Pro Tools, settle for something like Wavelab.
