Hi I am new , Infected Mushroom Bassline Question

I've uploaded a part of IM track called Scorpion frog .
Notice that the bassline has somthing weird in it , I don't know how to explain it its like its changing every second , can some 1 explain how to make that effect ?
Also if u recognize the writing of the bassline that will be awesome. Thanks

Hi, welcome.
I don't notice anything in the bass...exept for a mild filter / amp modulation, maybe VCO or something analog like, probably just different note velocity.
The notes... it's a classic KBB psy bass, some notes last longer thou... but don't try to copycat.
I don't know how new you are in production but you'll have to spend many days tweaking basslines before you get close IM basses. Is not that hard but is not that easy either... so search for bass tutorials in this forum.
You'll get there eventually... by now understand eq, synthesis, compression, music theory, etc...

Hi thanks for the reply.
I am in production for about a year now... I think I am alowd to copycat Im sience i am not trying to sell my music i am in the learning process lol i think they will forgive an amature like me who's trying to learn new stuff.
Anyway..their is somthing weird i am talling u if youlle listen closly ..its impossible to explain its somthing beyond eq or diffrent velocity
som1 told me it could be somthing called "finger noise" in trilogy didn't really find it in their
And about the writing u sure its kbb?
i am hearing somthing like k_bb_k_bb_kbbb k_bb_or maybe its just the effects in their or somthing |

The notes are different in the second part of the phrase.

take trilogy
303 saw
velocitiy to filter
velocity to amplitude only very little
play with velocity of every note - sound changes for every note

I've played around a little with the 303 came up with nice stuff for the first time in trilogy thanks for that !
but i don't know what u mean velocity to filter and velocity to amlitude could u plz explain ? |

btw albino and blue are not that complicated...that specific trilogy was complicated but i kinda worked it out
any way thanks for the tips i think i've realized how to make that bassline sortof... |

Nothing wierd about that IM bassline. I think its the filter modulation that you are thinking about.
The synth might be a Nordlead. |
