Horns and Hoofs Entertainment, the sub-label of the legendary Boshke Beats Records, present to us their most recent release, cryptically titled "Great Atlas of the Underground Cartography: The Esoteric Riddles from Tezcatlipoca". It's the first volume of a new series of anthologies of previously unreleased tracks compiled and selected by the prodigious ears (according to Alex Tolstey, head of Boshke Beats) of the label A&R – and manager of Fnoob Trance Radio - Anyer Quantum. Anyer is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the development of Psychedelic Techno (once called Tech-Trance and Minimal Psytrance), a particular style that has its origins in 1998 with the release of X-Dream's "Radio" and whose respected exponents in the underground Psychedelic Trance circuit include The Delta, Spirallianz/Midimiliz/Extrawelt, Bigwigs and Yumade just to mention a few.
This compilation is the most recent reflection that such a tradition is still latent inside a new generation of artists from such diverse and distant nationalities as England, Sweden, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, Serbia, Canada, Scotland, Israel, Hungary and Mexico. Together they showcase the real essence, spirit and philosophy of Psychedelic Techno, a style that defines itself by sounding as distinct and different as possible from the general mainstream of Techno and Trance in general.
