The best tip I can think of for that style is to render things various times.
For example, open any synth, make a pattern, apply FX until you like it, render it (export audio file). Then do that again with that file and also you can play with the order, chop it into sections, stretch them, add dynamic FX that go On/Off and so on..           ProtoDrive https://soundcloud.com/protodrive

Hii

I'm trying to find the best technic as well.
I don't know what's better.. put the real bpm in the DAW or the half of it (180bpm track, 90bpm in DAW). Maybe anyone knows the advantages and disadvantages of it?

As Midnight Sun said "render things various times" is a really tip! You should really try this.. you also can create a lead with just a part of a percussion, like in the video.

Have fun!

hey andy ive seen many of your videos

the main problem is developing the lead with more variations with time. is it possible for you to upload something like that? maybe give some more options

Appreciate your contribution

thank you!

get comfortable with the world of sound. garbage in-> garbage out.... simple like that. your results will depend on the time and passion you put into your music.

learn to listen! best advice i can give. there is no technic for any genre at all. only knowledge... the more, the better.

learn everything...... just about everything.... sounds weiredo, but yeah its like yoga, wherever you start, soon or late youŽll learn it anyways just because you simply have to or because you get bored or interested and want to learn something new which will be beneficial for your creative spaghetti mind ejaculations. so break it down to something you want to start with and simply go your way young padawan

production wise iŽd say ALWAYS do less processing to your sounds possible...try getting it to sound like you want on source! most synths nowadays will easily manage that....

get yourself to know what youŽre doing understand things you stumble upon by coincidence. spend hell lot of time, meditate on your machine and become one with it joking.... though might be beneficia ^^
if you understand what youŽre doing and what youŽre dealing with and you follow my first advice, you will develop an ear by time easily capable of deconstructing any sound you listen to. you will hear and understand how others make their sound.

music is only limited by our mind, thats the real beauty in it. the tools for developing our vision are limited. just get them to know real good and you did half of the job.... take all time needed.

never mind times of hopeless feelings, kinda never getting there issues or strange emotional impacts when listening to others music ^^. the key really is to never give it up so really take all time needed. hope kinda helped ^^ cheers

EDIT: ou yeah....for mentioned genre i agree on that coffee thingy, especially iŽd recommend 8 shots of fines "morning 500sl" espresso in a cup of half litre, filled up with strong black to about 3/4 for milky pleasures or fillup. for special shoot out i like to add something like one full tablespoon of finest brown sugar.... just for the taste of it ........ for real!          FUCK GENRES, LOVE MUSIC!!!!
