Try Plastikman... it's not "Acid" music (the style that is), but he's the single trippiest musician ever. Consumed and Sheet One to get you started. Off the record, the most visual music on acid you'll ever find.

Try looking for stuff on labels such as: Stay Up Forever, Smitten, Routmaster, and artists like DDR (Dave the Drummer) the Liberator Bros. (Aaron, Chris and Julian) and Geezer

boris.. this stuff you are talking about is acid techno.. but it is not so psychedlic. much more hard and banging.. check a&e dept "the rabbits name was" very old but shows you what these guys do with a (and sometimes several!) tb303.. although it is not clear from the original question what the guy is interested in...

if u're looking for acid techno than, like borris said, try the liberator guys and d.a.v.e the drummer. (which, by the way i saw regarded many times as "trance". )
hardfloor and old joey beltram stuff r also very good.
but the king in this area is emmanuel top, very hypnotic and psychedelic for me.

Usually when someone askes me about Acid i go for the multi TB crazed stuff.

For sure Emmanuel Top is one of the fathers of acid and of trance. Check his track 'Acid Phaze' on the first Krembo comp.
Also worth checking the oldish label group REACT - Borris is that right? I myself not a great fan, but they dealt with acid and all the 'Age of Love' thing in the beginning of the 90's
