I've been enjoying to your 2010 material, i have to say excellent work, it is warm n groovy yet very psychedelic.

How do you guys get that edgy textured character on your sound, mostly leads... is it a mild bit crushing or one of the logic's distortion?

Thanks.

lol, I'm glad you asked that question actually. I've also listened to the new stuff and rather enjoyed it. Some insight would be awesome

I've dialed in some presets in Logic's Guitar Amp Pro. People used to record synths through amps with microphones, besides DIing them straight to the mixing desk.
Obviously I'm using software to do this, but I like a hint of distortion in lead sounds...here's an unreleased tune where you can hear Guitar Amp Pro, loads in leads.

I'm a sucker for amp-like distortion

Peace out.

You get redirected to the thread you most recently opened, rather than the thread you clicked login from. I know it's stupid...

Bit crushers were overused in the second album, we've taken it easy on the third one. Still love 'em though.

Yes sorry about that, it was before I had my ears syringed and all the muck from partying out doors, has gone out me ears
I can hear the top end a lot better and the 3rd album kicks are not so sharp and generally the top end is more tamed.
