For those with a solid Live Set/Act:
How was it for you, playing your full set at a party?
How did you feel when finally listening to your tracks on a PA and watching people react to your sonic moves?
Did this first experience changed anything in your production method / approach?

I started playing out live in 2003, when I was making breakbeats, but trance tunes we started playing out live, last year for the first time.
It was great playing out live, and the people shouted and danced through out the set...but I also realised our mixes need a lot more work. It was a good learning experience, that paved the way for making everything sound the way they do today, which we are very happy with.
Peace.

Hah, my first time was almost the same, except the computer was brought by the org, the monitor was one of those big ol'14 inch white boxes and I had to install w/e I needed during the party. Otherwise, it was pretty normal, with the exception that I had stage fright and was sooo scared of doing something wrong...

I made my firsts Live Acts with a super safety setup. The tracks were played from Cdj. I've used the free master output to route it to the computer, so I could use the fx's without bothering about my laptop's performance. If anything was not ok, just don't open the computer's out.
I was not so scared, cause I felt the dj stage to be so far away from the ppl, that made me relax.
But indeed changed the way I produce. I was very very critical about sounds, quality, and all the tech freaky points. And I realise that it's not like "the better the production the better is the crowd reaction"... So I understand: it's all about music!

My first live act was not really very live, but there was a good little crowd of people and I definitely learned a lot from hearing it on a big pa, but luckily I had some capable equalizers running to even things out.
The second time I played live was at vuuv festival, a combined set with Lauge. That was a blast! We managed to get quite drunk as well hehe, one has to celebrate, right?
