Hi people...

I have been wanting to switch over to a laptop based setup, as i am sick of burning cds, i want to have less plastic consume....after researching different threads the recommended controllers are either the vestax vci 100 and or the hercules rmx console....as the hercules rmx console comes with a couple more of inputs, that would be a plus.... However
i would like to have a second opinion, is this really a good tool, or just another toy for kids? I have some more questions, how do the equalizer knobs work on these consoles, as it would be with the internal mixer, do they really mute the freq's when you put them on 0?

Please share me some insight!!           Dance like nobody is watching

i wouldn't call hercules a toy for kids but you won't be satisfied from the sound for sure neither from the frequency response of the equalizers, something that all consoles i've played whith are in luck as whith normal mixers...if you want good sound quality go to native instruments consoles (almost cd quality),again whith that weird mixer and eq response but that's something to get used, you know use the sound of the console.experienced mixer manufactuers that are in the console game are allen & heath and pioneer but only 4 chanel, never checked them but experience counts!you could also go timecode but the big plus of a console is that you play everywhere whith your setup like playing home!
good luck whith your search!

i just got an used one,
for the price it0s really solid, if it has been a computer-less console it would be fucking rocks

the main issues reside in the software and the computer you hook up to this

the enclosed virtualdj won't run fine here with macbook pro, it glitches and jitters

i'm now trying out the free "mixxx" software, and altough it work seamlessly ,
audio output quality is just shit
you can't leave the master level on top
as soon as a deck goes in red for a ms, it's quickly noticeable the loss of quality
