Let's see if you're doing this the right way.
First of all you're activating VSTi's from the instrument panel.
After that you're putting up a MIDI track and routing it to the vsti. Entering notes there should make you hear something.
If you do not hear anything, make sure the "vst outputs" are ok.
If you can explain more about your problem it will be very helpful to us.

Stupid question, but are sounds outside Cubase working? Windows, mp3, games?

What sound card do you have?

MasterBlaster.
there must be something wrong in your situation:
either the sb is not functioning,
pcm channel is muted, or this is a soundblaster live! and u connected your speakers to the rear pair socket, and not to the front pair.

in 1st case: u know what to do.
in 2nd - unmute Wav channel in sbmixer.
in 3rd ... hehe ... use your imagination.

hope i helped.

bom.
