Ok, for someone like me to be asking this question is supreme idiocy, but i want to know wat other people do before i go cranking away at this new recording. I just recorded a DJ mix into sound forge 6, and i am stopping that way i can find out from you guys what you do. I have never recorded in soundforge therefore i do not know what to do. Thanx!           -=Keep it Spiritual=-

What do you want to do exactly with your mix??? To save, to post-proccess or just to play???           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Chop it into tracks and burn it. I think i kept it pretty EQd throughout the mix so it doesnt need any mastering.           -=Keep it Spiritual=-

Cut the part and paste it to new track, then save. But be carefull, probably you will need to leave few second of mix on every side to match it while playing.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

First, i think that everything needs mastering!
Second thing, you should chop all the parts you need...save them as different waves,
then you need to reopen them in cubase with
your main track, select the position, edit, procces, and after you will finish, try mastering your track...
Eq is very important to your sound quality...

If you want to just chop it into tracks then you can use Nero. it is possible to eq the track also with nero but I guess a program like sound forge wavelab tracks 24 e.t.c. will have better results.
Before you burn your mix (as a big wav file) from the track properties you can split the mix into as many tracks you want. Before you burn the cd make sure you select disc at once.

Another way is to leave the wav as one big file, and create a CUE sheet (a text file) which contains information about where the track boundaries are.

The point is : (free) applications like Exact Audio Copy

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

can use CUE sheets to create CDs with mulitple tracks from one large wav.

You can use (for example) the mp3cue plugin for winamp 2.x (which I wrote btw:) to create CUE files

http://www.guerillasoft.com/mp3cue/index.html

I prefer this method because I like to leave mixes as one file.... I then encode them as mp3s
and don't like the gaps you get with mulitple files.

Oh another advantage: if you want to change the track boundaries then you just have to change a line in the text file, you dont have to start gluing files back together again!

You can open any mp3 along with your track,
and mute the unwanted parts and apply your
plug-ins or effects on the parts you wish to
edit...bom
