Isakk my nigga,

im now also on cubase

i have an ASUS mother board, AMD XP2800+ CPU...and it runs perfectly with all the fx and vsts , even when im not using the audiowerk soundcard, amd works wonders!
get lots of memory (1gig at least)
dont waste too much $ on a top notch CPU, get whatever is in reasonable price now
and get an ASUS motherboard!

and ur set to go!

and with the tracks that u have so far, with a nice system you'll get very far

best,
Alex

i thinks so too... amd proccessor (dont rush after the top of the top... just a waste of money for not that great difference) and alot of ram! (most important when using alot of vstis....)

It depends a bit on your budget. If you have loads of money to spend and want the best, these seem like a good choice:

Motherboard: VIA K8T800 (Socket 939)
CPU: Athlon FX-55 (2600 MHz 128/1024 kB)
Memory: DDR-400 (2 x 512MB)
Harddisks: 1 system disk + 2x Maxtor 250GB 16MB cache in RAID 0 configuration

Maybe a bit expensive but very fast.

Hi , First of all , i would like to know whith this 64 bit , does the Os's even allow this , i thought win xp for instance was running 32 ?

These last 7 days ive been fighting with problems on motherboard and sound conflict , i bought Via Chipset, and later same day i was told that Via chipsets can have problems with external soundcards .. something with pci bus latency ,.. dunno im not the proffesor .. but maybe i wouldnt choose a via set

I think this would be good P4 , Intel i915P, Socket 775, with new cpu and ram "standard", i was told that with 512 ram it could easy out max my 1024 rams im using today on my "old" Intel p4 875p , Also i heard some stuff that the new versions of cubase (sx2)where very glad for Hyperthreading, so i would go for p4 Htt , new chipset

And , Ram arent the important factor , always the Cpu freezez when there is overload ..if u check ur ram and how much ur use of it , I think u will settle with 512 Fast ones

Also i think fast harddisk scsi , would help on speeds

thats just my 50 cents            3ó BooOoM ShanKaRA 3ó

if you want amd then i will suggest you the AMD K8 64Bit processor and Gigabyte motherboard 'GA-K8VT800PRO' with at least 1GB ram DDR400,

if you go for intel then go for P4 3.4 Socket 775 and gigabyte motherboard 'GA-8I915PDuo Pro' and DDRII533 - 1GB ram(at least)

peace and good luck
