ok i'll try and be more specific , so i'm playing with cubase, and i want to raise the soundcard volume, the moment the window with the sound control panel opens cubase stops playing, and that happens with the soundcard ,messenger or any other window i open ,it's very annoying,as u imagine,
thanx for your interest.

does it stop completely like you pressed stop or does t keep on going but without sound ?
if its the second option than its probably the asio driver settings. (just choose the release asio in backround option in the asio settings) if its the first ... well i have no idea.           if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

In Cubase, go to Device --> Device setup --> Vst Audio Bay & uncheck the box that says 'Release Asio Driver in background'..Hope this helps!

Winner!

This setting can be useful if you are switching between 2 programs like Cubase and Soundforge sharing 1 audio driver, but... usually it is just a pain in the ass.
