Kent=
Established in Reims, Kent is a fresh new artist from the Databass Music crew. Quentin Balenghien had been playing the flute for seven years, studying classic music,at this time he was listening alternative and progressive rock, then every kind of electronic music (techno, movies, electro accoustic, down- tempo..) Around 96, he started to be seriously involved in the local scene and was a dj (playing both trance and hard/experimental techno) before he started to produce music around 1999.
During the last two years Quentin improved his musical work while studying business and communication. On the week ends he was spending his days in the studio and his nights in parties.
Early 2001 : Kent produces always better quality music, from techno to trance, with a more and more personal fat and progressive skills. Giving full time to his music work, Kent produces several tracks a week, all different and all sounding better.
From this production, he develops quickly his own style : Progressive groovy structures, heavy clear sound never monotone, never full-on, Kent proved he was a very serious man in producing dancefloor night and morning tracks, always pumping with an intimate touch.
All are accurate dj tools which are perfectly in the best of today’s techno trance production standards.
Péa- half of Yumade(who knew Kent for several years) heard a couple of tracks from him and offered to release « crazy beat » on the Next Level compilation from Creamcrop records in Denmark.
At the same time Kent joined the Databass Music crew and developped his studio equipment.
Quentin had also started to collaborate with some friends and other musicians. He participated in combos together with his old bud Tone,with who he produced Melon Ghost, Which will feature on "Winter Session" V.A.

Mel.Ler
The project ((mel.ler)) developed from a co-operation of Dj Mel and Scherer during a Afterhour Studiosession in June 2001. Already the two first from this session developed TRACKS of the style of driving and minimalistic Psytrance, "Knoerz" and "Tropfstein" , proved themselves as genuine tanzflaechen - to Rocker already and put thus the ideal foundation-stone for a harmonious and success-promising future of the project.
Releases on Tatsu records.
