help with some breakbeat's for dark trance

indeed sy00031, u use the rim often as a drummer, but it gives a TAK instead of a higher pitched snare-sound... it's called a rimshot btw...
u can even hit the rim and the skin at the same time (requires some technique to pull it off on command), and then u get a massive BANG out of it...
u can also hit the side of the snaredrum, that produces yet another kind of sound... There's a lot u can do with only a snaredrum 
snaredrums are always tuned to 440Hz (unless u really want it to be tuned differently, but that's the standard)
indeed, most of the time u hit only with the left hand, but u can play the hihat with ur leftfoot too, to keep ur hands free to do other things... u can achieve a lot of different sounds from the hihat through the comination of pressure on the left foot and the power and way in which u hit it... |

there was a dnb forum wich had a lot of stuff like that one for download, but i forgot the url 
maybe it was on dogsonacid.com or a look a like
most dnb forums have lots of nice stuff like the samples on that site...

i'm realy happy to see that producers cmbien this powerfull style in trance and psy.
i listen to your loop on the link and wonder if its a breakbeat part anyway.
never mind , i dont think you need this loop for your track coz you can make it on your own put some hihats (1/8-1/16 maybe) and design it your own way i'm sure you can do better.
but , if your looking to work with breakbeat loops further more then use reason , Dr .Rex will do a great job.

also using the groove templates (swing quantise) in logic can give life to simple break structures...

what i learn from making beats...
Just imagine - you are drummer.
You are sitting with all this kicks, toms,hats.. etc
Now i try to play some rythm in my hand with this "virtual" kit.
