in waves there is something like a denoiser. it works if the noise is on a different freq then the sound you want to keep. its kind of needed to have an audio part with only the noise you want to remove. there is somekind of learn then and in processing the sample it removes the noise frequencies. used it sometimes for samples from a movie. can be amazing. |

dont work with shit samples.
u cant make turd to shine , as much u try , probably it will just smather all roud
try get better source , if its movie , rent the dvd , if its cd converted to mp3 , buy the cd. if u cant do it , eq , x-noise , noise-gate (or simply - gate).
pay attention to x-noise learn option , u should record some static noise first then it remove this frequency as said..

X noise of Waves can do a good job, if overdone aliasing can come in though. The alternative would be a good eq, simply take a q setting of around 70 or higher, then turn the volume of that pole way up and sweep through the frequencies until you find the sound that's annoying you, then attenuate the frequency, then take the next pole and do the same thing...make sure you don't attenuate too many frequs, or your sample will thin out. Contrary to the mentioning earlier, samples can be cleaned, as a matter of fact it is being done all the time with excellent results in the movie industry!

Sometimes the most shitty vocal has the message you want to spread with that particular part of music
I always use a parametic eq
Just make a bump with a small q and gain it to the max, scroll through the freq. spectrum to find the freq's that bother you
Most of the time its just a nasty resonance, you'll hear when you hit the spot cause the sound will distort like a motherfucker.

Antares filter, almost any good eq (i usually use voxengo curve), and other filter fx on the sample itself could help it sound better on the end of your fx chain. |
