Hey guys, oh boy its me again. /jk
so i started to make this track:
first of all i'm stuck, what should i build up to?
i at least want it to last for 7 minutes, its like i could even build up a new climax just already there. also i think the first climx is a little bit too early. :/
And re there any FX i should ad? what could i do to make it as psy as possible??
and i can figure how to cut the intro without it getting rid of a certain amount of resonance. http://soundcloud.com/li-fe
I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

The bass sound has far more oomph then has been mixed, you can use a multiband compressor to phatten low sounds, EQ, inverted EQ'ed delay, etc; to boost it into a warm fuzzy psy bass feeling. www.wizanda.comwww.soundcloud.com/wizanda

if you want to make a 7 minute fullon track out of it the part from 1:20 should be around 4:00 or 5:00. you have to start out slow and introduce the main progression later: the part from 0:13 to 0:40 to me sounds like a break leading up to the part from 1:20.
also it sounds like there would be another section coming at the end of the current track.

@Wizanda: A multiband compressor eh? Tht could work, but, ofc, i dont properly know how to use that one. Do i sort of ajust the threshold or somehing?
also, is it normal to add delay to make psy? i only hear it in psybient and uplifting but i'll try it.
and i will try out the EQ'ing later, its already EQ'ed quite akward, lowered the lows but boosted the really low mids and high frequencies..
EDIt: because since the bass is quite loud everything starts pumping and pulsing in the annoying way if i hightened it a certain amount.
And thanks padmapani, i will build it up like that i will just have to slightly introduce more melody in the bass and change the pads and synths, i must just let the inspiration flow a bit. Thank you so much

There is a thread on here explaining having delay on bass, as you need to cut below 200hz, so its only the effect.
Experiment with a compressor to understand how they work, get a visual oscilloscope to see how it works on individual sounds, then a multiband can just work on different frequencies, so you can boost bass and flatten the highs. www.wizanda.comwww.soundcloud.com/wizanda

OK!!1 that delay thing was so completely suprizing i did not really find that thread but what i did was adding a Digital delay line i moved the "wet" knob all they way up put it on about 6ms and gave it a moderate amount of feedback. worked wonderful even made the bass a bit louder.
I tried to compress it Reason only have a twoband compressor and something like a sidechaining compressor so i had to use that one no threshold was kind of.. cool.
Lesson is now learnt sort of. Also after i Re-Equalized it the bass got a bit brighter and i changed the decay and drive amount a bit just to make it rumble a bit more. made it more ... rofl... "visual" i mean it doesnt cloud up and disappear when theres a lot of synths i might want it

Nice ideas man! Mix is decent, progression is pretty good, I would too recommend building up to another climax,
but would go for a nice real trippy kick/bass section too slowly building up with a new melody on top maybe with some choppy 303s, a bar of silence and then slam back into the final climax.
Maybe add more FX and trippy sounds throughout the intro and stuff.
What are you mixing your kick and bass at?
I personally mix the kick @ -10db and the bass @ -12db, and mix everything else accordingly, so I have headroom for possible mastering later on.

Hope I've helped,

Thanks for the advices, great help, when i make music i always have two climaxes. The song becomes much better that way. i'll try to find a way to make a 303 sound, i have actually never made one. I found a sample in the psycrafter vol.1 But well, i'd rather make my own synths
The way to build it up sounds like a really good plan. I'll go for that. And i will try to find some good fx samples and change them around till i make something cool and trippy out of it Thanks for the advices, REALLY helpful. Also good to hear that the mixing is decent at least.
Also, i dont know what dB i mix at, i have to just try it out, there is no way to check it as far as i know, haha.
play it by geheur B))... (
