so i had a thought.
to take a signal and split it, then seperate the spectrum in each new signal and feed one of them into an effect (i was thinking of a delay) and the other one clean.
so i experimented a bit but i didnt really get interesting results.
can anyone give me some pointers on this?

well you could do that and then play around
with the volumes of bothe channels in a way,
were you get sometimes a signal with a delay and sometimes clean within the track,
wich can make nice continues and a sudden
stop to a sound...for example.
the other is you can try this:

or just experiment... |

the technical part is more or less clear. i wanted advice on specific frequencys to cut.
ive tried this by cutting the frequency off one signal and maxing out on the other channel so that it stands out. it makes the signals a bit yucky.
has anyone tried this and placed an lfo an pieces a frequency in the eq so that it comes in and out of the effect?
ill try that now and tell you how it went.
