Help with Absynth... plz!

I just installed Native instrument's Absynth 1.3
the first thing i'm required to do, is to select an audio system in the "Audio Port" menu bar. I tried selecting a system, but every time i try, i get this messege: "Unhandled Exception". And then i get an "Ilegal operation" messege, and the program shuts down.
anyone know what to do? help me - please?

"Unhandled Exception" can happen only in windows, dear falfula.
and because of "Illegal operation", i suspect it 2b win9x.
Audio Port is supposed to be ASIO or MME or DirectX port. if you try using one of them and it's not installed (e.g. ASIO output, when you don't have ASIO drivers in the PC)
you will have some error.
other thing is: maybe you try to use absynth outside of a sequencer, when the seq. is running and holding/locking the Audio Port... so don't do this - use it in the seq, and use only the same Audio Port as your seq.
