HELP WITH A BASS (NOT TRANCE)

Hi, I was trying to make a song, that starts with a hip hop melody, but I mean the hole thing, and I dont have a real bass, so Im using Trilogy,but is obviusly no the same. So do you have any tips, on how I can get the bass sound fater.(u know 90s hipo hop fat)and any tips on compression and eq???. cuz its totally a different thing, than doing a trance bass in the alien303.

For fat deep bass imho the most important thing is a simple sine wave.
You can take a sine wave as a core for your bass and decorate it with some mid-freqs components or a bit of distortion or anything else what you like...

possibily you could divide the bass into 2 parts de sub made of a sine and the mid with a waveform that must have a little more harmonics preferibilly a saw
afterthat compress everithing to give it more punch |

To name a few nice synths for hiphop basses
Try
Imposcar
Mini Moog VA
Muon Tau
Tal - most of their synths are great
V-station
Vb1 can also work.... 
Like Medea says, Sinewaves are great for meaty botomend.... but you probably need to layer it with some othe waveform to get some overtones.. if thats needed
Btw did the basses in 90ies hiphop sound so fat?

Bro , here is what u can do. use the bass, make a bassline. then send to internal mixer and put EQ on it, lower all hi's and bring up the Low's.
understand??
