"svchost.exe-no disk" this is what keeps popping up on my screen..some kinda virus in the registry and i have tried scanning and doing all that kinda stuff!! i have AVG antivirus..but doesn't seem to help..
ive tried to google it...every website says "Click here for Free Download of RegCure"
but eventually asks me to register and to fix it costs me from 30$ to 40 $ ...any other way maybe.. anyone? please!

Oh, this is a fun one. I've had a similar problem before.

Start your computer in safe mode and run this program called HiJackThis (http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis).

I got mine solved just by running HiJackThis in safe mode, didn't have to send anyone a log file or anything.

happened to me when 'end task' svchost , and since then either cd was in the drive or it keep pops up.. when i got new burner its gone.. hehe (this wasnt why i got new cd burner tho but came in handy)

ya,but its the usb thats saying no disk! wtf!! guess my only option now is to re-install freaking windows! so many programmes i have..its a pain in the ass!
i tried 'regcure' to fix it...it was ok..but whenever i plug in something...same thing happens!damn!

No need to reinstall if you're on xp. After making sure you've cleaned all possible viruses do a repair install using a windows xp disk. It'll probably fix it.
