If you are not using cubase SX then get Prosoniq "Time Factory" at http://products.prosoniq.com/cgi-bin/register?service=showdetail&refno=39

great software for time stretching- you just enter the original tempo and the desired tempo and it will stretch it with excelent quality(you can choose the algorithm)

if you are using sx then its much easier.

However make sure you are cuting the start point and the end point of the audio sample before you stretching to ensure smooth stretching           Space is the place

not sure that cubase vst version has time stretching peyote king.

but the time stretching algorithyms in SX are just wonderful. that and the wonderful world of crossfading audio;)           www.organicparadox.com

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

Time factory don't change the pitch if you don't want(it stiil able to) and is much more proffesional then acid.

acid got the Acidized technology which adds some special data headers to the original sample in short: it changes the sample in some way- not that proffesional in my opinion

Acid works using timestretching, just like the algorithms in SX does (by the way, VST WILL timestretch as well; there is a tool for it in the right-click toolbox, available in the Arrange window). The extra data that Acid stores in the headers is to do with length in bars and beats, original tempo and key, and enables Acid/Sonar etc. to get it's stretching right first time. The extra data does nothing to change the sound. Acid also includes tools to preserve transients during stretching - it does this by recognising those transients and stretching each hit individually - a bit like a timestretching version of ReCycle.

Personally I wouldn't use Acid as I don't like what it does to the sound, but I know for a fact that some really good albums have been made using only this software, so what the hell do I know. I tend to use ReCycle a LOT for loops, and the MPEX algorithm in SX for other things.

By the way, RTFM = Read The F*cking Manual... always good advice.

i figured cubase vst did time stretching, but since i transitioned directly from reason to cubase, didn't have that history with cubase that i now soooo regret;)
