So I finally built my PC. But when I connected the midi controller to the USB port, an m-audio oxygen 8, there was an error message that said something like:
"An usb device has malfunctioned and has exceeded the energy limits of your concentrator port. You'll have to disconnect the device. Recommendation: disconnect the device and then click on 'restore', to activate the port again. If you click 'close', the port won't work again"
I didn't connect the controller to electric supply, only usb. After this error message all usb ports won't work. They don't read my pendrive, though if I connect the controller again, the same message appears.
I connected the controller to another PC, and it shutted down! and again, all usb ports in this pc aren't working... it seems the controller made short circuit or something.
Now, the usb cable is a little loose at the controller end..it fits tight in there and it 'clicks' when I connect it to the controller.. but it doesent' stay very firm.. Maybe is that?
I'm buying a new cable tomorrow, I hope it's the cable. What do you think?
Thanks

Dont try to use that cable again cause I think it may damage your mainboard .
Something might cause an overload on your USB power line ,It can be the cable or perhaps your midi controller has an internal hardware eroor .
Try to check if your Midi contoller is ok with external power supply like an DC adaptor ,if its ok it must be the cable .
