to move a sound back in the mix u use reverb, so if u have reverb on that lead, decrease the wet or increase the dry and it will come back to the front. If the reverb is on a send just turn down the send and u'll hear ur lead come closer to you.
It can also be a delay with a very short delay time (has the same effect as a simple reverbalgorithm with only early reflections), so check ur delays too if the reverb-trick didn't work.
If that didn't help u can use an externaliser to do the opposite of what it's meant to be used for, and bring the sound closer to ur ears. Then u can play with panning. But that will only help a tiny bit...
prolly there are other things, but that's what i can think of right now... |

If your leads are standing 'too far back', you might want to try some aggressive compression which tends to make a sound appear closer.
Also, make sure your bass isn't competing with your leads, forcing them to the back or up to high to be heard (I'm just guessing at things now). If your percussion is going well but you can't hear your leads, make sure there's space in the frequency spectrum for them to be heard.

Let me try give some tips and i'll hope you will be able to translate them to the final mix.
of course it's very gernaly speaking but with the aide of your imagination , hard work and time i think that at the end you will be more pleased with your work.
there is an illusion when you use hi freqs then the sound seems closer to you, than try to "mark" the hi freqs in the specific lead ( even though it's a low pass). as said here before reverd do make the lead go at the back but a smart delay should be a nice compromise.
try to use small attack on your lead and mainly at the compressing stage to sharp things up.
panning and spreading is a great way to sperate things from the others.
one more thing that i like is a automated res. (hi res.) with a chopped disty lineup.
any way good luck with the result:)

if your leads standing too far back, boost them at 4khz for more presence... |
