delta's are real cheap, i'm looking forward to get one but i have a doubt. what things use digital out and what things use analog out? what do i loose without digital out? i'm really a noob with hardware (even more than producing lol). speakers are analog out right?
it's that 44 doesn't have digital out. what do i loose with that? |

I won't say you need digital inputs/outputs, well only in case you have another equipment which has those.
The only problem with Delta serie, these cards have no midi interface on them which is much more usefull rather digital i/o. Think you will get digital synth, you will need to buy midi interface.
Second hands equipment is good buy for those who know exactly the product, because you can buy damaged product and you won't see that damage in the first place untill some other person who been experienced with such hardware while it works won't agree with you. I wouldn't buy second hand monitors or sound card, because i have no idea of general failures these may have. |

I used the RME HSDP9632 and its worked without a glitch for two years now.
In future I would consider getting a EMU card...
depending on where you live, ebay shops can offer new products with guarentee and all that for less money than it would cost in physical shop...

Hi Michael!
First of all... Did u get some nice monitors??? Cause imo u need "good pc+good sc+good monitors".
If u already have the monitors, here´s my advices:
1)Check the type of connection u want(PCI, USB, Firewire). It´s important u to think about your laptop(if u plan to play live) and if u will take your sc to the stage. If so, think about the size of the sc, and if the laptop has the connection.
2)What kinds of inputs u want??? U said that u will not use synths... What about a mic?? If u want to use it, u will probably need a XLR input(48 V). My advice is to choose a sc with XLR and P10 inputs.
3)How many outputs do u want? For monitoring the music 2 monos is ok. But if u plan to play live with this sc it could be nice to have more outputs.
I´m sure after u answering these questions u will find the sc for u.
i´working with M Audio 410 FW. Not so stable, but nice overall machine, and not so big, so I can take it to stage.

no monitors for now. i need soundcard first, than a new computer, and only then the monitors will come
1. i guess i need PCI for now. it will take some time till i will play live (lots of time)
2. i dont think i need inputs, maybe 1-2 max
3. outputs for monitors are enought
what about those Delta44\66?are they any good?
how do i know if the soundcard is damaged or no? a first look at the card is enough? (no damaged circuits or cracks)

on my opihion,
you better choose a sound card with 4 inputs minimum and that's because you dont know if you would like to have serveral hardware Synthesizer's in the future....

Imo, after the infos u gave, the Delta 44/66 will fit your needs for sure.
It has inputs if u get a synth, and it´s much more stable than USB ones(a weak pc can have some problems to handle a USB sc).
ps: no more army?

This topic of all thos sound cards be grounded and
appear here many (1.000.000) Time .. Pls use the search and u will find and get the right answer .
1. First buy the computer . Work in phase , Step by
step .
2. Never heard the delta consequence and results so i cant talk on this specific pattern over here . I use ESI 'Waveterminal' for 2 years and belive me its satisfact . The price is not in the sky and the
quality is super professional ! .
The real sound card is your ears .
3. Always new is better but at the same time you
can buy sec' hand (Dont think is matter in the professional high degree) .
4 . Pm me we have (Oscuro & i) here 2 W.Terminal
sound cards (I see you an israeli so no prob) 700 nis , You can come and get it .
5 . Good luck in your selection .. !
