read the manual 
search the net
remember GOOD equipment dont make GOOD music! creativity do!

dude dont start with fruity it har really bad bad sounds and is really basisc , like super baisc.
either cubase forsequence and reason forsounds... |

hahahahahaa (my first post here) if you plan to use only the sounds that come with any sequencer you'll end up with a song not that good. (like saying you painted a nice painting when you put together a puzzle).
Fruity is great to start with, and once you get better you maybe will want to change to something else (or maybe not  . |

if you search the site, you will see alot
of topics and threads that would help you
out.
learn about the basic building blocks of
electronic music making bit by bit, and
then youl understand more what you nead or dont nead.
besides that your question is way too general
and is impossible to answer over one thread...

Please just search the site... there is alot of info about sequencers and programs here. If you can, try out demos of different sequencers and virtual studios to see what kind of style you like....
i started using Reason only, and when i got tired of that i went on to Cubase, and now I use them both together 
For me that is the best combination!!!

Just take fruity loops and u will make killar tunes in short time. And if u learn it properbly u will have ENDLESS possiblities with it.
It is just a killer prog, u don't need anything more. Maybe a bunch of quality samples, monitors and a soundcard. Use search for good stuff of these.
