yesh, I fully agree
It was kind of fun though - really getting in there and waaaaarrrrrping it.
I'd say two banks; one for inharmonics, and one for harmonics myself, but yes, this is clearly completely over the top I like working on my EQ skillz though

I havn't listened yet but...
38 EQ points! PSYKOTIK MINDZ, you need to tweak your synth better. Any bass line that needs more than a single (multiband) EQ needs fixing in the synthesis, not the EQ.

I would have to agree with you completely. If i had do that much eq work i would rather give up making music
Just to let you know i was using the wasp in FL and the rez was completely closed |

just remember, if you get the souond nearer what you need in the first place, by setting up the filter better, ie higher, and with less res (or however it was that the mids ended up being really rezzy), a lot of what I did there wouldn't be needed I was FORCED to brutalise it.

but I've already shown you... There is nothing on the kick apart from the EQ, and it goes through the group compression.
If there is no res on the filter in wasp, then I would suggest not using it - the middles were hellish. Doubly, as it definitely does not reset phase.

it's not always that easy... otherwise we'd all be doing it.
oh, hang on...
seriously though bear in mind that Speakafreaka is into some deep EQing techniques, as he has discussed here before. different producers put different emphasis on different elements of tracks. i know of a couple of 'pros' who are happy to simply hipass + lopass a bassline.. and they still make ridiculously awesome music. others are very clinical and in-depth... it depends on your priorities, your musical style, your sound, etc. etc... |

but of course, getting the very best original sound source you can is of paramount importance. |
