Man, you are right about trying to get some good hardware.
The acoustic is important, but you can have the best acoustic in the world its not gonna give you what you're looking for.
Isratrance is not the best place to ask about this sort of thing. try gearslutz |

POM,
The RME adi 2 is maybe the worst of the best converters.. I mean, if you go for HighEnd Analogue (I agree with the others, most else can be done with plugins) then this converter wont stand in your way but it also wont bring you all you could get.
After all with speakers and accoustic it is important, that you know it and are able to work with it and are happy with it... even if it is not perfect. But for sure this has to be up to your needs first.. I agree with the others.
I personally would probably go for an analogue synth first.. maybe a jomox sunsyn would be on the top of my list. but certainly a more modern one with midi and presets etc.
But certainly no modular... too less voices and function per money and space.. I had a doepfer one.. sold it.. extremely fat.. but dam.. each oscillator 100euro?? its so limited.. better use the moog modular plugin..
As a channel insert maybe you want to look at empirical labs "fatso".. its not really high end but a analogue piece of gear designed to give analogue warmth to whatever you like.. its quite special. Opinions are split about it.

yes i ll buy something when i m sure i need it, for the synths i miss the pure analog sound and i m planing to do some house music and other style where big warm sound are welcome (with a minimoog style synth ) or something more psychedelic with a modular ... but now i m thinking to a preamp ,eq or compressor to send my tracks in cause vst are getting better and better, but i never used gear like that, i don t know if it ll make a big change.people who own digital plugins and analog gears all said me to go analog ,like it was night and day,is it true? (i know we don t need all that for very good produced psytrance but it s a gift to myself :-))
wi']['ch for the uad1 i think it s not really what i m looking for but i ll listen some sample if i can find some.

forget about vst and their crappy cold numeric sound !
get the moog voyager , it does make an incredibly huge change !! this synth is out of this world...don't be too scared by the sound of the basses at 1st , this is for REAL ! ;)

I have quite a bit of analogue and digital outboard gear but nearly all my recent stuff tends to be all done in the box...
I don't use my analogue synths much at all (Alesis Andromeda and Waldorf Pulse+) and havn't been doing much with them for a while now.
If you want a better sound, IMO it pays more to spend money on studio acoustics, speakers and converters first.
Here is a gear list to give you an idea of what I am not using any more: ;)
Yamaha GA32/12 32 channel analogue mixer (not used)
Soundcraft K1 24 channel analogue mixer (Used for monitoring and routing)
