maybe I'm not tuned in to the cultural subtleties well enough... I see the news about the Love Parade just finishing up in Essen, come here to look for more news, and find not a peep. This makes me curious - does the psy-trance community consider itself clearly disjoint from the community present at the Love Parade ? If so is this an objective difference based on culture or musical content, or is there an aspect of conflict and/or politicization ? I'm not trolling for trouble, I'm truly surprised that there's no mention of a gathering of 1.2 million. My lines of contact to the community/ies are maybe longer than others (early 40s operating in the straight world in the sleepy USA...) so your sharing of knowledge will be appreciated.

Ehrlich nicht als doofe Fragen gemeint...

just look at this picture galleries http://www.totallycrap.de/galleries/galleries_love_parade_2007_part_1

and then tell me that you really think psytrance culture has anything to do with this complete bullshit which takes place at the LoveParade...

LoveParade has become a second carneval for the masses more than some years ago           .o° welcome to the 6o4th dimension °o.

Never. Ever. Again.

Been there

I´ve ever wanted to visit the Love Parade once, but the wish wasn´t great enough to travel to Berlin. This year the "Love" Parade was located in a Town just 35 minutes awy from whrere i live, and so i decided to give it a try.

After 1 1/2 hours, i just had to leave because love was the only non-existing emotion there.

On my way from the Main Station to the "Berliner Platz" where the "Main Stage" was, i saw at least 4 Major brawls, and many scenes more where Police or some courageous people where trying to seperate the "Love People"...

Many faces i looked at where "teeth grinding" instead of smiling like i´ve expected there......

I´ve arrived at the "Main Stage" when Monika Kruse was playing, but even 100m away from the Stage i couldnt recognize the Music that was playing, there was only a hint of a beat that i could grasp. I´ve decided to leave after 20 minutes between those xxx.000 people and head back to the Main Station to leave for a small free Open Air Psy-Party, and when i finally arrived, there was a small venue with only 40 people. All of the people where smiling, friendly and caring for each other, and i hat a great time dancing, chatting, smoking some joints and enjoying the Sunrise

After a long period of "Psy-cultural pessimism", i finally remembered what it was that once brought me into the Psy Scene.

I kind of see what you mean - teils so etwas buergerlich und verwachsen (partly a little bourgeois and overgrown). But hey, if they were having a good time, the vibe is bigger that just some pure core and comes in infinite varieties (of course the vibe does not include drunken idiots looking to exercise power, I understand). Sorry it wasn't worth while for you, thanks for the info, enjoy the spirit, see you around
