There is no such thing as "tube plugin" ,
"tube" it's one thing and "plugin" is another .
Maybe u mean eq plugin with tube-style graphics? |

c3p0, there's a tube-distortion plugin, simulating old tube amps.

i have some "amp-simulators" in my 01v mixer ,
but they sucks , there is too big difference between
tube and digital technologys , i don't think that
emulating tubes on computer can b possible . |

c3p0, nothing can simulate a Marshal valvestate VS100w i'll give you that. but some plugins can supplant real tube effects, or there lack of.

Ok, we talkin' about some global things here ,
something little offtopic that i must say :
Let's forget about vst and hardware for one second,
if i take a woman, for example, some man can just
download a woman from internet , and it's enuff for
their personal needs, (they can do the function) .
Other ppl need a real one, and not because of the "function" , because of some other things ...
When u imagine the "difference" between those two
things , it's exactly the same as comparing synths
with vsti'z .
u know what i sayin'...
EZ,
Peace. |

c3 dude, what the f... are you going through man? first of all, if you dont believe in plug ins why you even look at plug in questions? (specially after not knowing sometimes all the material ..) second- if i only had the money to buy all the equipment i wanted and needed i would have to rob a bank or two..
third- tubes in plug ins can also just give a worm feeling to the sound, yes i agree that a 16 track tape, a consule, a q6, a virus, set of good monitors and hell with the computer aswell.. but gee man life's a bitch.
anyways to get a real women i dont need to rob a bank so it's easier for me than reall synths.

ampli-tube is great!
there is also ohmforce predatohm and mobilohm plugz that are very nice
anyway vst are not created to manipulate the exact sound of a real synth or effect procesor and that just all..
just like synths didnt manipulated real acousic instruments sounds.
if you arer using a vst to procces sound you are using the vst and trying to show that you are having the instuments cause vst's are bult by their own-its more than just manipulating sound its about making their own sound cause vst are more flexible than real hardware and as computers get powerful same as the virtual instruments and the programming level!
im tottaly agree with jacky
no anyone can afford real hardware for him self! especialy in the begining. so he begins with software and even dont pay much for it (warez?..).
i dont think there is something to compare between computer made music and strictly hardware made music.
its anew generation of musicians that use new "instuments" to mke their masterpeices sound original
peace and jah bless you all!

First of all i 99% agree with jendoz .
And to jacky , i think that almost no one can
buy all equipement at begining of producing ,
for me it took years to get flexible studio setup
and ofcource woman much easier to get
it's not about the equipement , it's about what u
know to do with equipement .
EZ,
Peace. |

sansamp PSA-1 is a protools RTAS plugin (u can run it in the free version of PT5) it's not VST but you don't need hardware.
it's a stompbox simulation so it doesn't add warmth so much as crunchy distortion but definately this is the best plugin of it's kind i have heard sofar... |
