Hi,
First off, excuse me since I'm not here to talk about Trance in Germany, but Trance in German...
Could anyone translate the following three reviews on Third Eye's albums :
Third Eye : Third Eye (January 1992)
Third Eye schlagen so ungefähr in eine ähnliche Kerbe wie die Shamen, also vorwiegend Synthesizer-generierte Rave-Grooves mit Techno-Appeal, aufgewertet mit zahlreichen Samples, Drumloops, Gesprächs- und Vocoderfetzen. Dafür verzichten sie auf dümmliche Raps und auch auf vordergründigen Pop-Appeal, unter anderem gucken sie auch schon mal bei Meat Beat Manifesto ab ("Terminal 283"). Bis auf ein paar Schwachheiten ist die ganze Platte eine durchaus gelungene, runde, vor allem hypnotische Angelegenheit, die sich nicht so schnell abnutzt wie vergleichbare Produkte.
Third Eye : Ancient Future (July 1993)
Ambientes Techno-Werk der trancigen Art, aufgenommen in Australien 1992/93. Das pure Rumschwelgen findet nicht statt, es ist eher eine Kombination aus Techno- und House-Beats mit Industrial-Anleihen und seltsamen Samples. Klingt hier und da ein wenig befremdlich, aber niemals richtig schräg. Über kurz oder lang ergibt man sich doch der Eintönigkeit und so bleibt nicht allzuviel hängen.
Third Eye - Dance of Creation (June 1994)
Eigentlich bin ich kein trance verfechter, doch diese cd zwingt einen dazu ausnahmen zu machen. Die ersten drei lieder sind der knaller schlecht hin. Teils melancholische mundharmonika melodien werden mit treibenden beats unterlegt, oder verträumte piano loops kriegen durch die bass sektion einen rasenden drift. Also, abfahrt !!!

92:
third eye are doing some similar style like shamen, means mainly synth-generated rave-grooves with techno-appeal improved with numeral samples, drumloops, vocal- and vocoderfrazzles. therefor they left beside dumb raps and ostensible pop-appeal, besides they adopt/"copy" to meat beat manifesto ( terminal 283 ). except for some weaknesses, the hole album/release is a well done, especially hypnotic affair which doesn t get as fast boring as some comparable products/releases.
93:
ambient-like techno-work trancy styled, recorded in australia 92/93. pure floating/chilling doesn t appear, it s more a combination of techno- and housebeats with some influences of industrial and strange fx/samples. sound sometimes a bit embarassing, but never too twisted. with time it results in montonousness and therefor it doesn t rest much in our memories.
94:
actually i m aren t a trance-adiccted, though this cd forces me to do an exception. the first three songs are plainly killllllar =(-; partly melancholic mouth-organ melodies have been underlayerd with some pumping beats or dreamy piano-loops are ending in a crazy drain when the bass-section sets in. so, move your ass !
