these guys for example offer kits for a lot of simple stuff as well as modular stuff, sound quality is maybe not the top of the world, but good and a nice learning experience.

Some cool stuff posted here, keep us updated on how it goes as I'm keen to give DIY a go once I get my modular habit under control Cuntus Maximus.

just keep it in mind guys, those diy kits are usually (of course not always) far from the level of a manufactured synth in terms of sound and components.
if you are looking to have fun, learn and just dig the whole idea of building some of your own stuff then awesome, but if you are expecting from this to get amazing synths for cheap, then you might get a bit disappointed.

I've a basic 2 VCO FM synth in the lab when I was in university. Used it on my first breakbeat track. I had to turn screwdrivers to make sounds as it had no knobs. It was a naked PCB with chips on.
