take it really slow..........i just started a couple months ago.....i got fl studio 9 and i watched a million tutorials on youtube for like a month before i made anything on it. Learn the Program you are going to be using.Listen to lots of psytrance like all day.Dont get scared by millions of vsts and add ons .....use what you got first and then move on. Learn a little bit of music theory to.Good Luck. |

for beginners stick to one software(cubase ,flstudio, logic etc.. ...
stick to one or two vsts and learn the basics of synthesis
learn how to use effects ...delay ,reverb ,chorus etc...
learn to make simple melodies
and stick to a style u like the most ..
listening to ur fav track and try to recreate the sounds and ideas u like the most ..(im not sayin copy the same thing ..but this can put u on the track to make sounds u like and over a period of time come up with better stuff)
try something new everyday and try stuff that u havent and thought was complicated..
ask any question here ...
and do not be afraid to tweak/automate everything..
good luck

Your synth work is very static. Automate bits of different parameters to velocity (everything from filters, modulations, pan etc) and play with velocity values. You will get movement in your sound and by altering the velocity values you can create different phrases with the same midi notes/sequence. I think this is very important in dark and fast psy music.
Best,

when u shorten the wavefile of the kick sample i would recommend u to use a fadeout function in the end of the file to get rid of that clicky sound...
Good luck.. |

If you are really into this,
never give up despite frustration.
Give it a little time, a couple of years and you will be amazed of how much you can learn and thus improve your sound.
Make many producer friends and share ideas and information. Gud luk
