Look, the little snippets here only tell me that you seem to know at least a little about making music, but nothing more. There's no way anyone can comment on things like the structure and flow of your tracks, because there isn't any that we're able to hear. And since these are crucial qualities of just about any music, I'm afraid that your sample reel shows us next to zitch.           Find my music here - www.soundclick.com/bands/0/qualiummusic.htm

you know qualim - you make me laugh with each comment of yours.. tell me dear qualim are you that pathetic? from what i can see here, it seems like the record labels are on your back begging for a track by you - the king of psychadelic. i'm sorry it came out that ugly but when i realized the horrible pattern of yours, i had to say something. it seems like you always have something to say about someone elses kraft, but yours? there is a saying in hebrew that taught me a lot -
SIAG LACHOCHMA, SHTIKA.

think about it.
and about my track? mp3 sounds like shit, after i did the head mastering in my studio--> "sound" has a new way of expression.

peace

Hey Astropolis, I apologise if I'm coming across the way you are saying I am.

King of Psychedelic? Me? Not at all - I'm just some dude on the net who's also producing music and is trying like hell to figure out how to get better at it. I also happen to know that it's often easier to judge someone else's track that your own. Now, I can't actually become someone else, but I can offer myself and my ears in order to at least perform this service for others. As long as people out there's working on some tunes I'm feeling good.

I am not, repeat, not off on some ego trip here (it's anti-psychedelic), it's just that this is a review forum and I am trying to give reviews which are as honest as possible, and reasonably detailed if necessary. I find honest, detailed, constructive criticism far more useful than brief, vague praise, and better still than nothing said at all.

You wanted my opinion on your track (I'm one of those 'trance people all over the world'), Astropolis, so I gave you my opinion. I'm telling you, there was stuff in there that I really liked, but I couldn't hear it properly because of the mix and the fact that there was just so much going on. Have a listen to trance of any kind and you'll find that it won't be like that - I's say that some would argue that your track should not be called trance at all (but I'm not one of those).

My post on this thread to Amir Gelman was a bit of a complaint about the fact that the track he linked to was just a whole string of snippets only a few seconds long, giving no feel for how any of the tracks progress. I think that if you're going to make a demo reel, the excerpts should be a good 30 secs long at the bare minimum. Mind you, many of those clips sounded like they could have been cut from something good - but you just can't tell.

I for one, got my own bit of criticism of one of my tracks, 'Oxide', which Prospect found way too dark and minimal. Fine by me. Great to know what someone else thinks. And I know, it is a very minimal, dark track - I was going through a bit of a minimal, dark phase when I was producing it. I've moved away from that a bit since then.

So please understand that I really do mean well, Astropolis. I want you to keep producing more and I'd love to hear whatever you come up with. And same goes for everyone.

PS Sorry I don't know Hebrew.           Find my music here - www.soundclick.com/bands/0/qualiummusic.htm
