The emails she received (which she should save as evidence, otherwise she won't have anything to show in court and you will win) can be opened up to 'full view' which will show lots of additional information like time of send and originating IP.
IP's can be traced to a general location but if your internet connection has a dynamically assigned address it will be hard to pinpoint. Although if it is radically different it will be shown to come from a completely different geological location.
Although, IPs can be spoofed, so if you were trying to cover your tracks you could have done.
The time of sending may be useful as you may have an alibi for the time they were sent.
Go into your sent emails, find the originating IP of the suspect emails and use http://visualroute.visualware.com/ or another traceroute app to find out where abouts they came from.
My hotmail account was hacked once, a long time ago and it scared the shit out of me - the person did something I've always thought I might do, if I had the opportunity.
The person sent an email to my own account, claiming to be me from the future! ..and that I shouldn't drive on a certain day because I would get into a serious accident. Rather than live in some weird doubt, I drove that day and was fine. But it was weird.. never found out who did it - but it definitely wasn't me when I was high.

-do a formal Complain to hotmail that someone hacked in your account. try to find out how they did it.
I'm no lawyer but if you really are a victim here, you would complain about it.
-also report this to the police. again if you go to court this is not proof that you didn't do it, but at least you took the necessary steps.
get a good lawyer and try to solve this with the person suying you.
if you go to court this is going to cost you in legal fees and you might be fined or what ever punishment the law...
so really your best shot is to convince the victim to drop the charges against you...
good luck man !

Man that is way too cool.. But he didnt do anything bad to you like that guy did to pixan did he? That way of hacking is cool for me..
Im playing hacker evolution now and yeah it is possible to cover your track through other servers if u know how.. Actually I wanna get more information on this topic an that visualroute is something for start.. So were to find hacking tutorial? Is there any real? Its just for safety purposes, of course cause more u know, more u can defend yourself..

There is no way to defend against really good hackers, the best people look for exploits and vulnerabilities that nobody has fixed yet.
99% of the people out there claiming to be hackers are the so-called 'script kiddies' who download freely available tools and just annoy the piss out of everyone.
There was a really funny program that I used to use during the windows 95 days called BO (Back Orifice) that allowed you to control other peoples computers, I used to infect my friends then open and close their CD drives randomly. I never did any damage, and that was my biggest venture into 'hacking'.
My advice these days is don't bother.. the penalties for being caught are far harsher now and using free programs where all the work is done for you won't gain you any respect. Plus, its just really really lame. |

for sure if there is official suing in process run to get lawyer first thing!
then he will do whats needed... this what you pay for.. and as far i understand this world it is best that anyone will do his job to guarantee the best result.
as well complain to hotmail for sure! they might be able to help track down the hacker specialy since this kind of shit is usualy kids stuff real hacker would never bother to do this unless he is your enemy.
