hello
i am astropolis, i live in hungry and i have been doing trance for two years. before that, without quiting, i was (and still am) a jazz pianist. i wanted to ask for your opinion trance people all over the world about a track i did - Astropolis
i found a good friend in israel that was willing to put it on his personal server, so please, it important for me.

Hmm, to me it's a bit of a mess, Astropolis. Just because you can play 60 sounds at once doesn't mean that's it's necessarily a good idea.
I can see that you're really trying to experiment, and I'm all for that - after all we're trying to be psychedelic here aren't we? However, when too much stuff is being thrown at my head in every register all the time it can get a bit overwhelming - at times you've got particular sounds which just drone and drown out everything else.
I'd suggest to ease back a bit (there are, in fact, some very interesting sounds hidden in there) and put a bit more effort on structure and development. |

it dosen't matter.. mp3 sounds like shit. its too bad that i don't have a big enough server for uploading the WAVE layer so everybody here could hear the difference between the wave file and the mp3 file.

not at all bad.....
don't like the pads that come in at about 4:30 (sorry, know its ur jazz influence), actually i don't like ur jazz piano bits at all (doesn't go well with the track)...
you do have a very solid base, ur basic sounds, fx & "irritants" are all there...probably you just need to concentrate on some good lead / grooves, more variations and you have a winner....! |
