SUN PROJECT, X - DREAM, JOHN BLEY, THE DELTA, TIM SCHULDT, DARK SOHO, they all come from metal, the good people of the parties are from metal, trust me,
we brought the HEAVY side of trance, to all the "shanti shanti" "sunrise/sunset" people.
come on, Rob zombie and White Zombie were on shrooms before people even knew what it is.
60's was pure rock, and you all know that its the start of metal back then.
come on, you know who you are )
and we know who we are !
KINGS WILL BE KINGS !
and always remmeber :
Do not forget where you come from, and to where you gonna go )

X-Dream comes from Metal?
imo Heavy metal is for kids, sorry.

i was way into that myself, including shit death bands like obituary and the likes.
but once you grow up you find that this music is pure agression and not a lot beyond that.

There is a strong link between metal and trance because both genres are quite the agressive kind of music.
But Psychedelic music has so much more in it than metal.

Kings Shmings,i would say the metal scene is way beyond it's glory days.

i have to agree with hanky - metal sure has seen better days. today it's for kings. and i am a metal freak myself. tho, hanky, i was more interested in the musical prowess of people like yngwie malmsteen, marty friedman and the likes, rather than the so-called aggression.
today's metal is for kids. but if you try convincing them to listen to led zeppelin, pink floyd or ramstein, their gonna smile a weary grin and go listen to the new limp bizkit EP...           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

I would say something much greater - that the metal influence over the trance scene has been deminishing since 1998-1999. Techtrance has slowly but surely started eating in the Tim Schuldt style (and even Tim Schuldt has started working a lot with Front Line Assembly).

Trance influenced by metal gave some of the tracks that changed the scene (Hallucinogen - Shamanix and Slinky Wizard - Slinky Wizard both had guitar solos on synths in them, Sandman's Nosterdamus, Tim Schuldt... the list goes on). But this has changed. Today the metal influenced acts aren't leaders, but rather don't go forward with the modern production values that trance has evolved for itself.

From the cutting edge in 95-98, to a style which is being swallowed by Tech-Trance which is not any less agressive.

Ohh, and X-Dream/The Delta come from goa, not metal.

Just to keep a trance side to this, so it won't be too offtopic

hehe.

I think nowdays metal more mainstream than underground (in some countries), but it still has some qualitys we can't ignore.

Limp Bizkit are NOT metal.
